In conformity with the principles of the Italian Constitution and the Magna Charta of the Universities, Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, the oldest University on the Western world, is a public, independent, non-denominational and pluralistic institution. 11 Schools currently compose the University; they are the organisational structures which coordinate the teaching activities, combining uniform and complementary subject areas and guaranteeing the quality of teaching and student services. Beside the Schools, 33 Departments are the University structures in charge of the organisation of scientific research and teaching and learning functions.
Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM) has the ambitious mission of creating and developing advanced research in the areas of civil, chemical environmental and materials engineering: from design, construction and service of man-made structures and infrastructures, through the study and characterization of the constituent materials, to the analysis of their integration and impact on the territory.
