The University of Padova (Università degli Studi di Padova) was founded in 1222 and comprises many Faculties (Engineering, Medicine, Law, etc.); at present about 65,000 students in several subjects with more than 2000 teachers are attending the University of Padova. Within this, the Department of Industrial Engineering gets together more than 100 Faculty staff and around 200 PhD students and research workers. Several research groups operate within the Department of Industrial Engineering.
With regard to the present proposal, this will be carried on by the research group named Sustainable Thermal Energy Technologies. This group focuses its research activities in the field of thermodynamics, heat transfer, refrigeration technology, heat pumps, air conditioning, renewable energy. In the last few years, this University has been partner in many international projects. Some UE projects have regarded the field of heat transfer, heat pumps and cooling systems. The research group named Sustainable Thermal Energy Technologies performs research in the Laboratory for Phase Change Heat Transfer, Laboratory of Refrigeration and Laboratory for Solar Energy Conversion, within the Department of Industrial Engineering. This research group on Sustainable Thermal Energy Technologies is active at international level, within international associations of refrigeration and heat pumps.
